Welcome to the Track & Field section of Huntingdonshire Athletics Club

 

Coaching and training sessions for all age groups (minimum age 9 years) take place on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6:45 pm to 8:45 pm at the St Ives Outdoor Centre athletics track.

 

Hunts AC athletes compete in the:

Southern Athletics League (ages 15 to Seniors)

East Anglian League (ages 9 to Seniors)

Eastern Veteran's League (women ages 35 - 65; men ages 40 to 65)

 

Other competitions include:  club championships, county championships, 3 open meets at St Ives.

 

All outdoor track & field competitions run from April to September.

Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Essex, Hertfordshire, Norfolk, Suffolk and Lincolnshire. 14 club records, 2 gold medals, 3 silver medals, 2 bronze medals Ayo Opaleye U17M High Jump - 1.89 (Gold) Entered the competition with an indoor PB and U17M indoor club record of 1.77. Broke club record four times by clearing 1.80, 1.83, 1.86 first time and 1.89 on 3rd and final attempt. Propels him to 5th in U17M national rankings. Finished 4th in triple jump with 12.48, missing out on bronze and silver by 3 cm and 4 cm respectively. Faith Harrison U13G 200m - 28.93 (Gold) Beat Moria Howard's U13G indoor club record of 29.20 set last year. Won her heat in 29.34 (previous PB 30.03) Lizzy Harrison (Faith's sister) U17W 200m heat 1st 25.81 (club U17W/U20W/SW indoor records). Previous PB and club record - 26.21 U17W 200 semi-final 1st 25.80 (club U17W/U20W/SW indoor records). U17W 200m Final 2nd 25.81 Jacob Preston U15B 800m - 2:12.26 (Silver) Sawyer Preston (Jacob's brother) U13B 800m - 2:30.16 (Silver) Improved his personal best by over 10 seconds and broke Tom Waterworth's club record of 2:33.70 set in 2018. SM 60m Final Morgan Webster 7.06 PB (Bronze) - 7.07 PB win in heat Sophie Bambridge U17W Long Jump - 4.79 (Bronze) Joel Thomas U20M Pole Vault (Bronze) Cleared 2.60m to equal his indoor club record. Jason Bogle U17M 200m - 23.14 (4th) - Broke Julian Priest's indoor U17M club record of 23.21. Won his heat in 23.32 U13G 200m heat 4 Zara Sharp 36.51 (beat outdoor PB of 38.6) U15G 800m heat 3 Lola Fletcher 2:37.27 (indoor PB) Moria Howard placed 6th in her U15G 200m heat in 28.47, beating her indoor PB (29.20) and faster than her outdoor PB (29.23) Julian Priest ran a PB 7.09 for 3rd place in U20M 60m heat. Moria Howard won her heat in Under 15 girls 60m hurdles with new PB 9.98secs and qualified to semi finals where she got 5th place with 10.13 secs. She also got PB in shot put 8.84m. 02/02/2020  South of England AA U20 Championships, Lee Valley  details
200m 1st Julian Priest 22.28 (club U20M indoor record by almost one second (23.21). Ranks top 10 (U20) in the country. Julian also ran club records 22.55 in his heat and 22.31 in his semi-final.

3000m 1st Joey Croft 8:29.17. Joey (aged 19) won by more than six seconds, improved his personal best by nine seconds and was just 0.27 secs from Ian Gartside's indoor club record of 8:28.9 set almost half a century ago (1971). This comes just a couple of days after being named as the Southland Conference athlete of the week. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Southland_Conference Joey's time currently ranks him 22nd in the UK Senior Men's national rankings.
